Micah who is like God?

To Jerusalem. Like Amos, Micah came from a rural area of Judah. He prophesied just before and after the fall of the Northern Kingdom of Israel. Even though they had witnessed the horrible destruction of Israel in the north, the Southern Kingdom of Judah still clung to the belief that they were safe because they had the Temple in Jerusalem. Surely the Lord would never allow His holy sanctuary to be destroyed by a pagan nation!

But they underestimated the importance of their own sins— corrupting the Lord’s sanctuary and exploiting their own people. Judgment was coming, but there was still hope. Micah looks ahead to the time when a man of God will come from Bethlehem to shepherd the flock and take vengeance on the nations.
